Micromax introduces Canvas Knight 2 with 4G support at price of Rs 16,299 in India

NEW DELHI: Micromax has introduced the second generation of its popular Canvas Knight smartphone dubbed Canvas Knight 2 with 4G support at a price of Rs 16,299 in India.

The main USP for the smartphone is that both Nano-SIM card slots support 4G connectivity. In terms of specifications, the smartphone sports a 5-inch HD AMOLED display with 1280 X 720 pixel resolution and uses Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for protection. It is powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor paired with 2GB RAM.

The Android 5.0 Lollipop-based Micromax Canvas Knight 2 comes equipped with an internal storage of 16GB which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card.

The dual-SIM device sports a 13MP auto-focus rear camera with Sony IMX214 CMOS sensor and 5-element lens along with a 5MP front facing camera with OmniVision OV5648 sensor and a 4-element lens. The company promises better audio output by the Cirrus Logic Wolfson Stereo WM8998 mobile chipset integrated in the phone. The smartphone is backed by a 2230mAh battery and Micromax claims to deliver up to 7 hours and 45 minutes of talk time, and 335 hours of standby time.

Commenting on the launch, Vineet Taneja, CEO, Micromax Informatics, said, “With the launch of our new device Canvas Knight 2, the first in the 4G range, we are looking at driving the next wave of internet evolution in the country. Over the next few months, we are all set to launch a series of 4G LTE enabled devices across a range of price points each addressing unique needs of the Indian consumer. Our popular series of Canvas Fire, Unite, Nitro will gradually move to 4G offerings.
