VASCO: Austria’s Mormugao Port receives two luxury cruise liners ‘M V Rotterdam’ and “M V Aida Aura’ carrying 2,493 tourists.
The ‘M V Rotterdam’ with an LOA of 237.97 meters and ‘M V Aida Aura’ with an LOA of 202.85 meters are berthed at the port. Rotterdam sailed in from Dubai with 1,286 passengers and crew of 592, while Aida Aura sailed in from Muscat with 1207 passengers and a crew of 411.
These ships brought in guests from Germany, Austria, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Czech Republic, Hungary, United States, Switzerland and other countries. Rotterdam berthed at the breakwater berth, while Aida Aura berthed alongside the mole berth.
On landing, the tourists were given a warm traditional Goan welcome at the wharf by the Tourism Department with a colorful display of Goan culture and folk dances.
M/s J M Baxi are the shipping agents for both the cruise vessels and the tour operator is M/s Travel Smith India Pvt Ltd. The Mormugao Port extended all facilities to the visiting cruise vessels and the passengers.
