TOKYO: The latest Mortal Kombat X game gets brand-new patch that will address some issues you might be experiencing.
The 1.03 patch marks the game’s third major update since its recent release a game that is still admittedly fairly broken on the PC. That was my experience trying to log in to the online components last night, at least, not to mention the persistent stuttering and glitching.
As for what’s being fixed in patch 1.03, it’s a bit vague. “Update now available for U.S. PS4 MKX that fixes some problems players have experienced with Krypt Levers & Sony Network account sign in,” tweeted Mortal Kombat X creator Ed Boon.
Patch notes published to Reddit indicate that developer High Voltage Software focused on five key areas in the update: A fix for Krypt switches, a fix for gamers being unable to sign into the Sony Entertainment Network (a big issue for some, as it locked players out of being able to play the game online), a fix for the game’s built-in leader boards, a fix for the game’s controversial “buy easy fatalities” option, and some undisclosed test fixes.
The patch is about 3GB in size, which means you might be waiting a bit before you’ll be able to download it, install it, and get back to killing all of your friends in increasingly horrible ways. On the plus side, patches now come with free character costumes, so there’s that.
Additionally, some users claim that the update adds a silhouette for the to-be-released Jason Voorhees playable character in the game’s character selection screen. Others claim that said silhouette doesn’t exist. Either way, hopefully the release of everyone’s favorite Friday the 13th slasher is just around the corner or hopefully Mortal Kombat X is a bit more playable on the PC by then. Otherwise, there’s always the, or, Android version.
