TOKYO: A new Moto X 2014 can now be bought at a low price of $49.99 on-contract with Verizon Wireless.

The Moto X 2014 is usually available on-contract with a discount of 50% over its regular price. They will need to hurry though, as the deal is valid only until December 31st. So if fans don’t get it before New Year’s Eve, they will need to shell out the regular $99.99 for a new Moto X. Similar deals have been available on the Moto X in the past as well, but only for a limited period of time.

However, do keep in mind that the $49.99 pricing is for the 16GB variant; fans will need to spend $99.99 for the 32GB model. Currently, the deal only shows up when they order a new Moto X through Motorola’s online store.

The Moto X 2014 comes with a 5.2-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 2.5GHz chipset, 2GB RAM, 16GB or 32GB internal storage, 13MP rear camera with 4K Ultra HD video recording, 2MP front-facing camera, 2,300mAh battery with quick-charge function, customizable back covers, and runs on Android 4.4.4 Kit Kat. The Android 5.0 Lollipop update rollout for the device has begun, so users should be able to update to Android 5.0 Lollipop shortly after receiving their new Moto X.
