Multan ASO generates Rs 81.49m during first 5 months of FY 2015-16

MULTAN: The Model Customs Collectorate Multan Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO)  has seized non-duty paid vehicles alongwith other smuggled material worth Rs 81.49 million in different operations in South Punjab during the first five months of the fiscal year 2015-16.

Sources told Customs Today, that the ASO confiscated 30 non-customs paid vehicles worth Rs 34.5 million from July to November, 2015 and this is the result  of  the well co-ordinated efforts of the ASO teams  under the supervision of the Customs Collector Sarfraz Ahmad Warriach .

In addition, the ASO also seized other smuggled stuff including diesel, auto parts, clothes, greese, electronic equipment, mobil oil, etc.  worth Rs 46.99 million during the first five months of fiscal year 2015-16 and regarding this thirty nine cases had been registered against the non-duty paid vehicles as well as smuggled and contraband material during the five months period.

Sources told that Customs has also generated about Rs 30 million through auctions from July to November, 2015.
