MULTAN: A team of Multan Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) seized 40 thousand litres fake light diesel along with 280 drums of grease during a raid over an oil factory located on Vehari Road near Jahanian.
According to sources, the Additional Director Nisar Ahmad made a special team on the tip-off information that an oil factory located on main Vehari Road in the jurisdiction of Jahanian Sadar Police Station involved in making inferior quality diesel from grease.
The Customs I&I team, comprised of Superintendent Farid-u-Din Masood, Deputy Superintendent Nasir Malik, Senior Inspector Muhammad Umar, Shaikh Arshad, Hafiz Younis and other staff members raided the factory where the workers were busy in making lower quality light diesel form Iranian grease. During the raid they seized a forged light diesel tanker of 40 thousand litres ready to departure.
The estimated value of confiscated grease and fake diesel is worth Rs 8 million.
It is learnt that the Customs I&I has been conducting a successful campaign against the forged oil factories located on old Shujabad Road and in the jurisdiction of Muzaffarabad Police Station. Owing to successive operations of customs officials the network of inferior oil producers and suppliers had been broken down. After this, the oil ‘mafia’ has started moving out of the Multan.
