ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has arrested Mohibullah Khan, ex-project director of the Bannu Development Authority for his alleged involvement in embezzlement of funds and misuse of authority, causing millions of rupees losses to the public exchequer.
During the course of inquiry, it was revealed that Mohibullah Khan illegally awarded several developmental works i.e. construction of roads, protection walls and installation of street lights in Bannu Township during 2011-12 through fraudulent means. The accused person allotted these works to his blue-eyed contractors and got millions of rupees as kick-backs commission from them. It is worth mentioning that accused was earlier arrested on 25-03-2014 in another case and currently he was on bail. Now he has been re-arrested in another case of corruption.
The NAB has already arrested Taj Ali and Malik Zaman contractors and accused Muhammad Tayyab, Divisional Accountant BDA in the instant case.
The accused will be produced before the Accountability Court Peshawar for obtaining his physical remand.
