ISLAMABAD: Syed Nadeem Hussain Rizvi, Member Admin, Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) is likely to assume the charge of chairman Federal Board of Revenue because current chairman Asim Ahmed will leave Pakistan on June 9, 2023 to join the Asian Development Bank (ADB) on June 9, 2023.
Sources said that the Cabinet Division has finalized the name of Syed Nadeem Hussain Rizvi, Member Admin–FBR, to be the new Chairman FBR. Syed Nadeem Hussain Rizvi is from the Inland Revenue Service (IRS) and has over 30 years of experience in the tax administration. He is currently serving as the Member Admin at the FBR, where he is responsible for the overall administration of the Board.
Rizvi’s appointment is seen as a positive development by many in the tax administration. He is a well-respected and experienced officer who is known for his commitment to reform. His appointment is expected to provide continuity at the FBR and to help the Board continue to implement its reform agenda.
