Nepra to impose new electricity tariff after Power Ministry’s approval

ISLAMABAD: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) Monday okayed hike in power tariff by Re 0.52 per unit under fuel adjustment.

Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) had sought increase over Re 1 per unit, stating that production exceeded Rs 60.53 billion expenses due to additional usage of fuel during September. However, Nepra approved Re 0.52 increase in electricity tariff. The new tariff will be applicable after the Water & Power Ministry’s notification. The increase would not apply on K-electric and user of 50 units.
