New Android-based 3G voice-calling tablet D-Link D 100 with one year manufacturer warranty launches in India

NEW DELHI: Taiwanese multinational networking equipment manufacturing corporation, D-Link Corporation has launched its new tablet called ‘D-Link D 100’ for the first time in India. The sleek 3G tablet with voice-calling feature is available exclusively for purchase in two colours- pearl white and charcoal grey on e-commerce portals such as Flipkart, Snapdeal and eBay India.

D-Link D 100 tablet sports 7.85-inch IPS LCD display with 5 point capacitive touch and the screen renders the resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels. The better processing output of 1.3 GHz Quad Core processor will allow the users to perform multiple tasks smoothly. Running on Android 4.4.2 (KitKat) operating system, the tablet comes with 500 MHz Mali graphics card (Mali-400 MP2). There is no word on lollipop update yet.

On the rear, the D 100 has a 5 MP primary camera. For selfies, the tablet comes with 2 MP front-facing camera. One more notable feature of this tablet is that it is powered by a large 4000 mAh battery. The details about the battery’s standby time and talk time are not mentioned on the company’s official site. The storage includes 1 GB RAM and internal storage of 16 GB. And, the external memory can be expanded up to 32 GB via microSD card. Moreover, sensors like G-Sensor, Proximity sensor and Light sensor are also included by D-Link. Other tools such as calendar, alarm clock, memo, weather + clock, record, et al along with Google Maps and GPS/A-GPS support (for navigation) are also provided.

D-Link D 100 tablet has 1 year manufacturer warranty. Whereas, the tablet’s inbox accessories have 6 months manufacturer warranty. Priced at Rs 12,534 on eBay India, D 100 is also available at Rs 13,549 and Rs 13,304 on Flipkart and Snapdeal portals, respectively. Looking at the specs and features, D 100 is likely to compete against Lenovo A8-50, Dell Venue 7 and 8 tablets.
