ABUJA: WorldStage Newsonline– The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has lifted the ban it placed on three commercial banks- GTBank Plc, Fidelity Bank Plc and Diamond Bank Plc, from collection of customs duties.
NCS sources told WorldStage Newsonline that the ban was lifted on the Monday 3rd of August, 2015 and the affected banks had resumed the collection of customs duties.
While NCS earlier claimed that the banks were suspended because they did not discharge their full obligation as partners in the customs revenue collection scheme, sources confirmed that they were suspended because some persons were using their platforms to conduct illegal recruitments.
The sources said the banks had assisted in the arrest the fake job recruiters which made the Customs to lift the ban.
