NEW YORK: OnePlus, as promised, has kicked off its open sale for the OnePlus 2 smartphone in India. Interested consumers in India can buy the OnePlus 2 without invitations from Wednesday to Friday. As before, the OnePlus 2 is exclusively available via Amazon India.

Apart from India, the Chinese smartphone maker has confirmed that it would sell the OnePlus 2 internationally without invites as part of its Black Friday deals.

An open sale for the OnePlus 2 smartphone means that consumers will not require invites to purchase the handset during the sale. The company, at the time of writing, had not yet revealed the number of units that will be up for sale from Wednesday to Friday.

It’s worth noting that this is not the first open sale for the OnePlus 2 in India as the company last month also held an open sale for the handset.

Since its launch in July, the OnePlus 2 has been hard to procure, with the invites necessary to purchase the phone in short supply. The company has come under quite a bit a flak for the lack of availability, especially after promises to ensure the invite mechanism would be more widely inclusive compared to the OnePlus One, and that more units will be on offer for consumers across the world.
