Opel hires 90 consultants for GBSC in Poland

WARSAW: Poland has become quite an important piece to Opel’s European strategy after the opening of Opel’s Global Business Service Center (GBSC) in Poland. The country hosts GM Manufacturing Poland, and the company employs 3,900 to work in its vehicle assembly facility in Gliwice, and engine manufacturing plant in Tychy. 90 consultants out of a total of 120 have already been hired.

Joining the engine manufacturing facility in Tychy, Poland, is the addition of a new Opel Global Business Service Center. The center will provide support to over 20 Vauxhall facilities across Europe in all HR related matters to data maintenance, expense reporting and training.

“We welcome the fact that General Motors is opening new kinds of business activities in Poland alongside the traditional automotive business. The new shared service center will create a number of new jobs for the people of the region. This is further proof of GM’s significant commitment to Poland and confirmation that, thanks to the efforts of the Ministry of Economy, a good environment for investors has been created,” said Jerzy Majchrzak,Director of Innovation and Industry Department at the opening ceremony.
