KARACHI: Pakistan Customs has directed the oil marketing companies to provide verified data of all legal petrol pumps within 48 hours to the authorities concerned.
According to sources, a meeting headed by MCC Preventive Collector Syed Muhammad Tariq Huda was held at Customs House in which officials of around 10 to 12 leading oil marketing companies attended the meeting.
Additional Collector Headquarters-I Shafqat Ali Khan Niazi, Deputy Collectors and Assistant Collectors were present in the meeting.
During the meeting, Collector MCC Preventive Tariq Huda asked the officials of oil marketing companies to share the data of recently sealed 23 petrol pumps in terms of their legality.
Sources informed Customs Today that the Customs authorities have not yet received desirable data by oil marketing data despite several intimations, letters and emails to them.
They further confirmed this scribe that the companies will have to provide the appropriate data in next 48 hours.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Chief Collector Enforcement-South Muhammad Nazim Saleem during a press conference on 9 May had informed that Pakistan Customs had demolished 76 petrol pumps in which 23 petrol pumps had been sealed for verification.
On the occasion, Muhammad Nazim Saleem claimed that the verification process of those petrol pumps would be completed in a week.
