ISLAMABAD: Pakistan-IMF talks will begin tomorrow for release of 6th tranche of $ 550 million. A team of officials from Ministry of Finance, Water and Power and Petroleum has already arrived in Dubai. The Finance Minister Senator Ishaq Dar had earlier stated that Pakistan has met the criteria set by the IMF, for the 6th tranche.
Initial two rounds of talks would be at the technical level, while the policy level talks would be held in the first week of February, in which Ishaq Dar will lead the Pakistani delegation.
The talks are being held in Dubai after the Fund team’s refusal to visit Islamabad, in the wake of security situation. The head of the IMF Review Mission Jaffrey Frank will visit Islamabad, at the end of the talks and hold a joint press conference with the Finance Minister.
