Pakistan imports Rs 490 million items via Wagha border

Total duty remains Rs 13.24 million, sales tax Rs 3.45 million and income tax Rs 28 million

 

LAHORE: Pakistan has imported items worth Rs 490 million from India via Wahga border during first seven trading days of October of current year.

As per details, Pakistan imported potatoes, tomatoes, garlic and polyethylene during 1-7 October from India.

According to available documents, Pakistan has imported 110 tonnes of potatoes worth Rs 5.26 million during the first week of October. The local government imposed no duty on the import of potatoes.

Similarly, Pakistan imported 7,663 tonnes of tomatoes worth Rs 361 million while Rs 21.68 million income tax was generated. On the other hand, garlic worth Rs 4.12 milion has been imported and Rs 247,614 income tax was collected during the first trading week of October of current fiscal year.

Documents show that Pakistan imported 1,133 tonnes of ginger worth Rs 80.84 million through the Wahga border, while the paid duty and income tax remained Rs 12.12 million and Rs 5.57 million respectively.
Carbon dioxide worth Rs 3.59 million was imported in first week of October from India. Pakistan received duty, sales tax and income tax worth Rs 179,749, Rs 641,702 and Rs 242,903 respectively.

As per details, Pakistan has imported polyethylene having gravity less than 0.94 and polyethylene having gravity 0.94 or more worth Rs 7.8 million and Rs 7.48 million from India during October’s first week.

Besides that, Pakistan also imported cotton yarn worth Rs 20.39 million while the paid duty, sales tax and income tax remained Rs 210,299, Rs 88,326 and Rs 45,046.

As a whole, Pakistan’s imports stand at Rs 490 million while total paid duty remained Rs 13.24 million, sales tax Rs 3.45 million and income tax Rs 28 million from October 1 to 7 trading from India via Wahga border.
