Pakistan Railways to buy 4000-plus horsepower locomotives

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Railways has decided to purchase new locomotives of 4000-plus horsepower, which will help strengthen freight operation.

According to a Pakistan Railways official, as many as 27 locomotives was being repaired locally and two locomotives a month would be rehabilitated. He said that 14 special trains run on Eid facilitate around 100,000 passengers. “Pakistan Railways has also retrieved 3,000 acres of land from encroachers, he added.
