LAHORE: Senior member of the Board of Revenue Nadeem Ashraf has said that in the light of vision and guideline of Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif, a process to reorganise the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) on modern and scientific lines has been completed. Five directorates of PDMA have been set up in this regard, he added.
He said that promotion of every official of PDMA has been made conditional with performance. He said that a modern warehouse will also be established in Sargodha so that timely relief goods could be provided to the affectees. He expressed these views while giving briefing to the delegation of World Bank Mission during its visit to PDMA department today. Directors of different wings including Nawaz Ahmed Khan, Shahid Zaman Lak, Sajad Ahmed, Malik Hameed Ullah, Nisar Ahmed and officers were present. Nadeem Ashraf said that department had been a role modelinstitution of the province. Giving details, Nadeem Ashraf said that Directorate Admin & Finance, Directorate Coordination & Response, Directorate Operation & Implementation, Directorate Disaster & Risk Reduction and Directorate Management & Information System will work within their own jurisdiction so that they could offer their responsibilities in an efficient manner. He said that Director General will directly supervise all the sections and every kind of strategy will be evolved with the mutual consultation of SMBR.
