Peshawar Customs generates Rs454.15m customs duty

PESHAWAR: Collectorate of Customs Appraisement has successfully generated Rs454.15 million under the head of customs duty during first 25 days of June of current Financial Year.

The CD generated in June is Rs55 million more than customs duty collected during previous FY.

Sources informed Customs Today that the Collectorate collected Rs351.23 million as sales tax in June.

The Collectorate is also collected Rs204 million as advance income tax and Rs 11.64 million federal excise duty (FED).

The Collectorate comprises different customs stations where most of revenue is generated from Customs station Torkham due to its border with Afghanistan.

The sources added that the Collector Customs Appraisment Ihsan Ali Shah passed strict orders to act upon the policy announced by chairman Federal Board of Revenue to expand in net revenue collection.

The collector also visited various customs stations to solve the issues of valuation of goods projected by importers.
