MANILA: A woman visiting her jailed live-in partner at the Pasay City Jail was arrested on Tuesday afternoon for attempting to smuggle illegal drugs into the detention facility.
Jennifer Belda attempted to smuggle shabu into the city jail by hiding the illegal drug in her private part.
She was visiting her live-in partner, who was recently arrested for illegal possession of firearms.
Belda was caught at around 2 p.m. after a visual body cavity search, which is being randomly implemented in detention facilities by the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology.
Belda said she was supposed to deliver the shabu, worth at least P1,000, to her live-in partner. Her live-in partner was supposed to sell the drugs to a fellow inmate.
Authorities are readying drug charges against the woman.
