MELBOURNE: A man is in a critical condition after a carjacking at Port Melbourne on Wednesday night. Victoria Police Senior Constable Adam West said a man noticed another trying to steal his Volkswagen sedan from a parking bay on Bay Street about 8.30pm.
“The victim, believed to be in his 30s, went to his car and tried to enter through the back door in an attempt to stop the offender,” Senior Constable West said.
“The offender drove the car off and the victim was wedged between a pole and the back door.
“He fell from the vehicle and the offender drove the car around a corner before dumping it and fleeing.”
