MEXICO: It’s been one of the prime problems twitter has had for years that it’s complicated to explore your own tweets on twitter.
That’s because until recently, Twitter didn’t provide a facile way to probe old posts. Sure, you could manually download your entire archive, but who wants to sift through thousands of tweets that way.
Of course Twitter’s search is still marginally constrained, though the company verbalizes it plans to expand the feature to be more comprehensive in the future. You can’t probe your direct messages or favorites, for example, though there are workarounds outside of Twitter. Snapbird, which requires users to authenticate with their Twitter credentials, sanctions you to probe within your direct messages or tweets favorited by you.
