PRV Cell of Appraisement-West recovers around Rs145m in Jan

KARACHI: The Post Release Verification (PRV) Cell of the Model Customs Collectorate-MCC of Appraisement (West) while following the directives of the Collector Muhammad Saleem has recovered an amount of Rs 14.429719 million in the month of January after detecting around 50 cases of short revenue recovery in which the importers were involved in mis-declaration of value, non-application of correct valuation rulings, mis-declaration of PCT, misusing of SROs and classification in clearing their consignments.

According to details, the PRV Cell has recovered an amount of Rs 94443 from M/s M J A Enterprises on non-application of valuation ruling on import of LED torch; recovered an amount of Rs 303336 from M/s Stand Phatma Pakistan on mis-declaration of PCT/value on import of rubber stopper; recovered an amount of Rs 92591 from M/s Anjum Corporations on non-application of valuation ruling on import of Rubber Stopper.

The PRV Cell with the teamwork has succeeded to recover an amount of Rs 357902 from M/s Nawab Tyre Corporation on mis-declaration of value on import of Rubber stopper; recovered an amount of Rs1.732668 million from M/s United Refrigerator Industries on mis-declaration on import of refrigerator gas; recovered an amount of Rs1.297621 million from M/s Arsalan Traders on import of refrigerator gas; recovered an amount of Rs 493222 from M/s Masoom Corporation on mis-declaration of value on import of RMC; recovered an amount of Rs1.054859 million from M/s Hamdam paper Products on mis-declaration of PCT on import of folding box in reel; recovered an amount of Rs168665 from M/s Jamal & Brother on mis-declaration of value on import of printer cartage; recovered an amount of Rs527690 from M/s Rahmani Traders on mis-declaration of value on import of printer cartage.
The PRV Cell has recovered an amount of Rs 80865 from M/s K A Enterprises on mis-declaration of value on import of printer cartage; recovered an amount of Rs234967 from M/s Nisar Trading Company on mis-declaration of value on import of Aluminum Kitchen products; recovered an amount of Rs 532013 from M/s Astronthece Inc on import of PVC flex in rolls; recovered an amount of Rs 625853 from M/s UBC Convertec on mis-declaration of value on import of folding box in reel; recovered an amount of Rs210438 from M/s Z Jans Pharma on mis-declaration of value on import of rubber stopper; recovered an amount of Rs824243 from M/s Aziz Brothers on import of Menthol Crystal.
The PRV Cell has also recovered an amount of Rs769012 from M/s Barrett Hodgson Pakistan Limited on mis-declaration on import of Ciprofloxacin HCL; recovered an amount of Rs728735 from M/s Zafar Enterprises on mis-declaration of PCT/Classification on import of tyres and tubes; recovered an amount of Rs62726 from M/s Olympia Synthetics Limited on mis-declaration of Menthol; recovered an amount of Rs62726 from M/s J S & Company on mis-declaration of used worn clothing.

The PRV Cell recovered an amount of Rs156064 from M/s Silver Corporation on mis-declaration of value of used worn clothing; recovered an amount of Rs725966 from M/s Ferozsons Laboratories on non-application of PCT classification on import of pharmaceutical raw material; recovered an amount of Rs 29301 from M/s MAS International on mis-declaration of value on import of pharmaceutical raw material; recovered an amount of Rs135885 from M/s K A Enterprises on misusing of PCT on import of pharmaceutical raw material; recovered an amount of Rs370265 from M/s J Zee Enterprises on mis-declaration of description and PCT on import of PMC; recovered an amount of Rs195623 from M/s Stanley Pharma Private Limited on mis-declaration of value on import of pharmaceutical raw material.

The PRV Cell has also recovered an amount of Rs202993 from M/s Hasan Enterprises on import of mineral oil; recovered an amount of Rs237824 from M/s Dacca Corporation on import of Sodium Metabisulphate; recovered an amount of Rs452533 from M/s Arbab Azad on import of Tyres and tubes; recovered an amount of Rs217588 from M/s Wazir Ali & Co on import of ABS Resin; recovered an amount of Rs588230 from M/s Toyo Enterprises on import of Pe-Tarpaulin; recovered an amount of Rs62668 from M/s Tabros Pharma on import of Pharma raw material; recovered an amount of Rs191780 from M/s Yes Enterprises on import of Polyester Door mat and recovered an amount of Rs43623 from M/s Zil Limited on import of polyester door mat.
The sources informed Customs Today that the Collector-MCC Appraisement (West) Muhammad Saleem has expressed his satisfaction over the recovery done by the PRV Cell in the month of January-2015 and asked the authorities concerned to continue their same zealous efforts in recovering the revenue through detecting violation of Customs Act, 1969.
