LAHORE: The Government of Punjab has approved a massive Rs150 billion Industrial Development and Export Program aimed at accelerating industrial growth, boosting exports, and generating employment across the province.

Under the initiative, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) will be eligible for interest-free loans of up to Rs100 million, providing a major incentive for business expansion and new startups.

Meanwhile, medium and large-scale industries will be able to access financing at concessional interest rates as low as 3%, making capital more accessible for industrial development.

Large industrial projects can secure loans of up to Rs5 billion, with repayment periods ranging from five to ten years, ensuring long-term sustainability.

These clusters are expected to enhance productivity, competitiveness, and global market access for Pakistani products.

Authorities clarified that all projects must be established and operated within Punjab, and borrowers will be required to maintain a debt service reserve account to ensure financial discipline.

The government estimates the program will facilitate industrial investments exceeding Rs160 billion, significantly boosting exports and accelerating the pace of industrialization in the province.
