Quetta I&I seizes seizes 139,000 liters of smuggled diesel worth Rs10.7m

QUETTA: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) has impounded 139,000 liters of Iranian origin smuggled diesel from different vehicles. The value of the seized diesel is around Rs10.7 million approximately. The vehicles used for smuggling diesel have also been seized by the authorities.

Sources told that Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Muhammad Ismail received information about smuggling of Iranian origin High Speed Diesel (HSD). He directed Deputy Director Amjad Rajpar to enhance vigilance on the suspected routes to foil any attempt of smuggling.

Customs Intelligence and Investigation team intercepted different vehicles from various check posts and recovered 138,000 liters of smuggled diesel.

Sources told that the drivers of the vehicles failed to provide legal documents regarding transportation of seized diesel. Customs Intelligence and Investigation team impounded the diesel and after registering a case started further investigations.
