R&D Section of MCC-Appraisement (East) recovers Rs26.6m in June

KARACHI: The Research and Development (R&D) Section of the Model Customs Collectorate of Appraisement (East) while following the special directives of the Collector MCC-Appraisement (East) Najeeb-ur-Rehman Abbasi has recovered an amount of Rs26,612,517 in the month of June, 2014 from importers who are involved in violation of PCT/classification, valuation ruling, mis-declaration of value and wrong use of SROs.

According to the details, the R&D Section has recovered an amount of Rs4935727 from three GDs KEAP-HC-8755-231213, KEAP-HC-8758-231213, KEAP-HC-8761-231213 of New Q-Mobile Phones while taking undue advantage of in-admissible SRO.

The R&D Section has also recovered an amount of Rs9690653 from two GDs KAPE-HC-110032-050614 and KAPE-HC-146109-230413 pertaining to the pharmaceuticals raw material. The recovery was made against misuse of SRO551/2008.

It has also recovered an amount of Rs450174 through a GD No KAPE-HC- 38553-061113 pertaining to the commodity Zinc Saturate. The importer was involved in incorrect classification.

The R&D Section has also recovered an amount of Rs431538 through a GD No KAPE-HC-71890-130214 related to the import of Laminated Wood through incorrect PCT/Classification.

It has also recovered an amount of Rs765,681 through a GD No KAPE-HC-88358-030414 on import of Carbon Black N-660. The importer did not follow the Valuation Guideline.

The Section has also recovered an amount of Rs701,149 by a GD No KAPE-HC-105773-230514 on the import of Face Cream through mis-declaration of classification.

It has recovered an amount of Rs56406 through a GD No KAPE-HC-106643-260514 on the import of PVC Floor Tiles. The importer was involved in non-application of Valuation Guideline.

The R&D Section has recovered an amount of Rs1143607 through a GD No KAPE-HC-96063-260414 on the import of hot melt wax cerathen. The importer was involved in non-application of Valuation Guideline.

It has also recovered an amount of Rs172550 through a GD No KAPE-HC-113357-130614 on the import of Styrene Butadiene Rubber SBR-1502. The importer was involved in mis-declaration of value.

The Section has also recovered an amount of Rs4375086 through 15 GDs on the import of Granular Muriate of Potash. The importer was involved in misuse of Sales Tax benefit.

The R&D has also recovered an amount of Rs461,904 through a GD No KCSI-HX-109046-020614 on the import of disposable swabs. The importer was involved in mis-declaration of quantity.

It has also recovered an amount of Rs570595 through a GD No KAPE-HC-95875-250414 on the import of Polypropylene Injection. The importer was involved in misusing of SRO551(I)/2008 and 565(I)/2006.

The Section has also recovered an amount of Rs253,991 through a GD No KAPE-HC-114609-170614 on the import of soft drink. The importer was involved in mis-declaration of the value.

The R&D has also recovered an amount of Rs1609244 by a GD No KAPE-HC-99892-080514 on the import of polyester knitted. The importer was involved in mis-declaration of value.

It has also recovered an amount of Rs158926 by a GD No KAPE-HC-104903-200514 on the import of miscellaneous goods. The importer was involved in mis-declaration of classification/ value.

The R&D Section has also recovered an amount of Rs435332 through a GD No KAPE-HC-114748-170614 on the import of ragon insecticide spray. The importer was involved in mis-declaration of PCT.

The Section has recovered an amount of Rs318720 by a GD No KAPE-HC-112088-100614 on the import of welding material. The importer was involved in violation of additional sales tax ordinance.

It has also recovered an amount of Rs81234 through a GD No KAPE-HC-113064-120614 on the import of plastic recycled granules. The importer was involved in non-application of Valuation Guideline.
