ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources has said that the investment in the oil and gas sector has increased to Rs910.72 billion as 373 wells were dug up in the country during last five fiscal years.
The ministry said that total 30 companies are operating in the country, including 12 local and 18 foreign. “28 companies got exploration licenses from 2002 to 2010, while the total quantity of oil sold by MOL and OMV during 2012-13 and 2013-14 was 11 million barrels,” it added.
