LAHORE: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Regional Tax Office-I Lahore Chief Commissioner Waqar Ahmad has directed all staff to use biometric machines while exiting or entering the office.

Sources said that the authorities have taken such measures to observe the attendance of employees in the office.

They said that some employees left the office just after marking the attendance in the machine, which created trouble for the taxpayers or visitors.

Sources also said nine biometric machines were installed at the RTO-I, while the staff used other gates to exit or enter the building.

Now, only biometric impressions will be used to mark the attendance; otherwise it will be considered as leave, they said.

Sources also informed that all staff had been asked to provide their data to the computer operator if they did not have their names in the record of machines.

Short attendance was also a major problem that needed to be addressed to provide proper facilities to the taxpayers, an official said.
