RTO vows to support APCDMA

KARACHI: Inland Revenue RTO-II Karachi Commissioner Dr Ghulam Mustafa Rahu has assured All Pakistan Chemical and Dyes Merchants Association (APCDMA) that the standard process will be followed for declaring any unit as blacklist.

The PCDMA delegation, headed by Chairman Salim Vali Mohammad along with Vice Chairman Zubair Riaz, Taxation & Budget Advisor Imran Ghayasuddin, ex-chairman Shaukat Riaz and EC member Rasheed Ahmed, pointed out their problems in a meeting with Commissioner Dr Ghulam Mustafa Rahu at the Regional Tax Office-II (RTO) Karachi.

Dr Ghulam Mustafa told the delegation that the case of sales tax resubmission of returns would be addressed within 72 hours. He said that standard procedure would be followed for blacklisting any company, but the association’s view would also be considered. The Commissioner also pledged a strong interaction with the members of PCDMA.

The Commissioner Zone-I, RTO-II shared the purpose of meeting with the participants and also decided to hold such meetings with different trade bodies in future on regular basis with an aim to bring improvement in accessibility of officers, building confidence among taxpayers and showing the taxpayer-friendly face of the FBR.

IR Deputy Commissioner Asif Jamali gave detailed presentation on Finance Act, 2013 and briefed the participants about new developments in Sales Tax Act, Crest software and invited questions from representatives of trade body. The questions were responded by C.I.T, IACs E&C and IAC Audit. The PCDMA delegation assured of their all out cooperation, feedback and voluntary compliance to the commissioner.
