NEW YORK: When you’re trying to track your fitness with a wearable device, you want a modern tracker that fits your fashion style.

Runtastic has announced its to release a new daily activity tracker, with the tech hidden inside an analogue watch. While Runtastic’s watches do not come with heart rate sensors, they are otherwise capable of tracking your steps, the number of calories you’ve burned, the total active time, as well as your sleep patterns.

There are four watch types in the family, the Runtastic Moment Fun, with a silicon strap and aluminium case. This announcement comes on the heels of Runtastic’s other announcement that they were acquired by the Adidas Group for $240 million.

“Over the past few years, we have seen the majority of players in the health and fitness space -Runtastic included – try to address the needs of users with a diverse array of tracking devices”, said Florian Gschwandtner, CEO and co-founder of Runtastic. A normal watch battery powers Runtastic, so no charging is required. It may not be a smartwatch, but it’s definitely a watch with smarts. Instead of wearing a watch and a rubber fitness bracelet, one device can count your steps and active minutes, and a quick glance at its face will show you not only the time, but also your progress toward the day’s goals.

The Runtastic Moment Basic is similar to the Fun, but the display is slightly larger and it comes in either biege of black.

The entry level is the $130 Moment Fun, which comes in bright colors like raspberry, plum, sand, and indigo.

In addition, the Runtastic Moment watches do not need repeated recharging, running off a single battery like any conventional battery-powered watch. Moment Elite boasts a high-end sporty design made from stainless steel, and includes a nylon-covered leather band. As too does the last model, the Runtastic Moment Classic, with its stainless steel case and leather band available in silver, gold or rose gold. The app has been expanded to support the Runtastic Moment, with data synchronizing wirelessly to Runtastic Me via Bluetooth so you can easily check your progress and statistics. The app also provides detailed information about sleep cycles, including duraction and both light and deep sleep phases.

All of the watches sync with the Runtastic Me app, which acts as a dashboard.
