MOSCOW: The Russian-Austrian Business Council is ready to support businesses in the implementation of joint investment projects, the council’s co-Chairman, First Deputy Director General of the Rostec State Corporation, Vladimir Artyakov, said at a meeting in Vienna on Friday. “The Business Council is ready to render full support at all stages of the implementation of the joint Russian-Austrian investment projects,” Artyakov said.
He noted that, against the backdrop of the volatile political situation, the two countries’ business circles maintain the policy aimed at the steady development of business relationship. According to Artyakov, amid the sanctions, the Business Council has the “task of consolidating efforts of the business community to establish closer ties in specific areas and large-scale mutually beneficial projects.”
He added that “Russia’s achievements in improving the business climate are of particular importance.” “The conditions for doing business in Russia today are better than in any other BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa) member-county,” he noted. “Russian businesses, along with the relevant ministries and agencies, are making efforts to create reliable mechanisms to protect intellectual property rights, improve the availability of credit resources, create tax and customs preferences for entrepreneurs who are ready to invest their labor and capital in the development of the Russian-Austrian relations.” Over the nine years of its work, the Business Council has become a powerful tool for developing and strengthening cooperation between the Russian and Austrian businesses. Thanks to it, there are more than 3,000 enterprises today where the two countries’ organizations cooperate, Artyakov said.
Taking part in the meeting are representatives of both small and medium-sized businesses and large companies. The forum focused on cooperation in such high-tech industries as mechanical engineering, the energy sector and infrastructure projects. The Russian-Austrian Business Council also holds the Day of Russian regions, which brings together delegations from the Moscow, Lipetsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Pskov, Samara, Smolensk, Tula and Chelyabinsk regions and the Republic of Tatarstan.
