MOSCOW: Russia’s agricultural safety watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor said Monday it had decided to resume imports of vegetables and fruits from Egypt, except potatoes, following an inspection visit by Russian experts.
Russia imposed a ban on imports of Egyptian agricultural produce on September 22 citing systematic sanitary violations, Sputnik International reported. “The sides agreed to resume the deliveries of agricultural produce from Egypt to Russia, except potatoes, on condition that the Egyptian side will meet all Russian demands on sanitary safety of supplied produce,” Rosselkhoznadzor spokeswoman Yulia Melano told reporters in Moscow.
