SAARC CCI hails Pakistani PM’s policies

LAHORE: SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Vikramjit Singh Sahney has hailed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s and expressed contentment over his confidence building measures to establish friendly relationship between Pakistan and India.

While taking to SAARC CCI Vice President Iftikhar Ali Malik on telephone, Vikramjit said, “Pakistani Premier’s initiative is a good omen and we very much welcome it. This will have far-reaching results in maintaining peace; ensuring political stability and economic boom in the entire SAARC region.”

He observed that Pakistani PM’s determination and vision would also prove to be very crucial in promoting peace, harmony and better trade relations among South Asian countries and the world at large.

Vikramjit also appreciated Nawaz Sharif for ensuring 50 percent share to women in the recently launched PM Youth Programme, adding that other SAARC countries must also follow the suit as no state could be developed speedily without giving equal participation of female segment of the society.

He also mentioned Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif saying that he had also created a goodwill gesture in his recent visit to India that would prove to be another milestone in further cementing the Pak-India relations. He expressed his firm resolve to advocate Nawaz’s vision at SAARC CCI forum to further expand trade volume and develop private sector of SAARC countries comprising Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan and Maldives.

In response to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s vision and goodwill gesture, the SAARC CCI President also invited a business delegation from Pakistan to have meetings with Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry and other Indian counterparts to find ways and mean to further the bilateral trade. The SAARC CCI Vice President and Member of Pakistan Planning Commission’s Advisory Committee Iftikhar Ali Malik told APP that he would soon lead another high-powered private sector’s delegation to India.
