NAIROBI: Samsung Electronics has added to the Kenyan market a 4G-enabled tablet that is dubbed Galaxy Tab A.
The tablet comes with a variety of features which include better viewing experience courtesy of its 9.7” screen and 4:3 aspect ratio that makes it ideal for reading and viewing publications while also loading web pages.
Galaxy Tab A comes with an enhanced pen that enables users to write, draw and sketch, just like they would on paper.
Samsung Electronics, East Africa Vice President and COO Robert Ngeru said that the launch of Galaxy Tab A is purely driven by market needs.
“Currently most entrepreneurs are doing business on the move and with such a tablet you will be able to multi-task and have efficiency,” Ngeru said.
The tablet will also have an opportunity to tap into digital learning space that is taking over institutions in the country.
Already, Samsung’s Tab 4 Series have become a household name, especially in the business community.
According to Ngeru, the tab is secure and great for doing business courtesy of Samsung’s KNOX security system which provides it with a defense grade security layer to detect and block mobile security threats or possible malicious intrusions and modifications to the tablet’s system files.
Users who are worried about viruses can be assured that the Tablet’s security is further enhanced by its inbuilt mobile antivirus software powered by McAfee which protects it against malware and viruses.
“The technology needs of tablet users are evolving. Hence Galaxy Tab A will provide users with perfect functionality,” Ngeru said.
To ensure that it caters to the needs of everyone, the Tablet accommodates family members through its multi-user features which allow them to create up to six profiles on the device. Children can also use the Galaxy Tab A, through Kid’s Mode, which offers children more safe kid-friendly content through a specialized and locked down kids interface.
The launch of the Galaxy Tab A follows the launch of Tecno’s Tecno Winpad 10 which was also seeking to tap into the same market.
