ABU DHABI: One of Samsung’s most popular devices of 2014, the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge, has just made a silent entrance into retail stores in the UAE. This is some pretty surprising news, especially because Samsung didn’t announce about this, making it a very low-profile release.

You can get the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge on Souq.com for Dh3,399 which works out at $925 USD, with a 20% discount, whereas Jumbo Electronics has the device priced at Dh4,499, a much steeper price, equal to around $1,250 USD.

This means that the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge is one of the most expensive devices in the tech world, even beating Apple’s iPhone 6 flagship. So, how long has the Note Edge been available this way? Well, Samsung claims that the device hit retail stores about a week before Christmas, so it has gone pretty unnoticed so far.

We don’t know why Samsung chose to make such a silent entry in the UAE, but it doesn’t really matter. Hayssam Yassine told “Emirates 24/7″ at the Note Edge’s unveiling in Dubai that the device would only be available in a very limited quantity, only to be sold by a few select retailers and carriers.

Samsung Galaxy Note Edge UAE release and pricingSome people would prefer Samsung’s Galaxy Note 4, which is a lot cheaper than the Note Edge, but not as powerful. What usually draws a customer’s attention towards the Note Edge is its interesting design that implements a curved display.

Samsung’s Note Edge was initially announced on the 3rd of September 2014, attracting a lot of attention ever since that first moment. The device packs a huge 5.6-inch 1440 x 2560 pixel Super AMOLED display with 525 ppi, 3GB of RAM, an Adreno 420 GPU, a 2.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor, and 32GB of native storage. The Note Edge also packs a very good 16MP primary shooter and a 3.7MP secondary camera, so it’s a really powerful device.
