Samsung launches slim smart phones Galaxy A5, A3 in Nepal

KATHMANDU: Samsung has launched its mid-ranged smart phones. The Galaxy A5 and A3 in the domestic market. The phones have a metal body and slim design of 6.7 mm and 6.9 mm thickness respectively.

Both the devices are equipped with Super AMOLED and Adaptive display and powered by Quad Core 1.2 GHz processor. The Galaxy A5 has a 5-in touch screen, while the A3 has a screen that measures 4.5 in. Both the phones come with a 5 MP front camera with supporting 120 degree wide angle selfie.

The Galaxy A5 is priced at Rs 38,900, while the Galaxy A3 has a price tag of Rs 31,500. As part of its introductory offer, the company has offered a 32 GB Transcend memory card free on purchase of either model. Both devices will be available in three colour options including pearl white, midnight black, and champagne gold.

Commenting on the launch, Pranaya Ratna Sthapit, head of HHP Business, Samsung Nepal Office said, “These new smartphones will further strengthen Samsung’s product portfolio in the mid-range segment and expand its position in the domestic smartphone market.”

Other features of the phones are Ultra-Power Saving Mode, Private Mode and Multiscreen, as well as innovative photo-taking features, such as Palm Selfie, Animated GIF and Beauty Face.

The Galaxy A5 sports a 13 MP rear camera and is equipped with 2 GB RAM and 2,300 mAh battery, while the Galaxy A3 comes with 1 GB RAM, 8 MP rear camera and 1,900 mAh battery. The phones have 16 GB internal memory (expandable up to 64 GB). The devices also come with various sensors like Accelerometer, Proximity, Geo-magnetic, RGB ambient light and Hall Sensor. On the connectivity side, both the phones support Hybrid Dual SIM functionality, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0 (BLE, ANT+).
