SEOUL: Samsung is going to introduce the first ever FreeSync Samsung 4K monitors. The monitors will be coming out in two different display sizes with almost similar features. The U28E590D is now available for purchase for $600 and it is 28 inches wide. While the 23.6 inch display codenamed U24E590D coming out three days before Windows 10 launch i.e. 26th July will be available at $400.
Both displays have 3840×2160 resolutions however; they differ in their response time. The larger screen (28inch) has TN (the twisted nematic display) with a response time of 1 millisecond while the 23.6 inch screen is PLS (plane line switching) with 4ms response time.
The FreeSync technology forces your screens to create smooth displays by syncing the refreshed rates for a better visual experience. Note that this only works with compatible cards. Free-sync is AMD’s competitor just as G-Sync is for Nvidia. This naturally halts the screen tearing and eliminates stuttering.
This technology makes a gamers dream come true at 4k displays without the second graphics cards for higher performance rate. The ultimate 60 fps tag sometimes drop while gaming but Free-sync or G-Sync keeps the visual experience as smooth even if the frame rate drops to 30 fps.
Besides the gaming aspect, these Samsung 4k monitors with free-sync works as multi-media with picture by picture feature and picture in picture option. It also lets users connect two PCs simultaneously; it has one HDMI 1.4, one HDMI 2.0 port and one DisplayPort.
