Schafer-Oesterle to build HUF 500m hall at base

BUDAPEST: German car interior manufacturer Schafer-Oesterle yesterday signed a contract on the construction of a HUF 500 mln production hall at its base in Bonyhád, southwestern Hungary, national news agency MTI reported.

Under the agreement, which was signed by Schafer-Oesterle managing directors Christian Kohorst and Volker Hermann, Bonyhád mayor Ibolya Ferencz Filó and managing director of the local industrial park Rajmund Futár, the German company is committed to increase headcount by 150 to 300 next year, following the completion of the 4,000 sqm production hall.

The companyʼs local unit expects revenue to rise to €8 mln this year from €2 mln in 2014, while turnover is set to reach €16 mln by 2019, Kohorst said. MTI noted that Schafer-Oesterle already has one 4,000 sqm production hall in the Bonyhád industrial park, built for HUF 947 mln last year.
