Security Forces kill Indian smuggler at Bangladesh-India border

DHAKA: An Indian smuggler was killed when a gang of smugglers attacked a Border Security Force (BSF) patrol party and four BSF troopers were injured in three different incidents of cattle smuggling at the Bangladesh border.

“The gang of smugglers attacked the patrol party with stones, lathis and sickles. Constable Sanjeev Kumar fired in self-defence which resulted in the death of an Indian smuggler. Both Sanjeev Kumar and another constable Abdul Karim sustained grievous injuries during the attack,” said a BSF officer.

In the second incident, under Angrail border outpost, Constable, Sanjay Kumar, sustained injuries in both his hands when a group of smugglers attacked him.

In another incident of smugglers attacking the border guards, under Bithari border outpost, Constable, Pankaj Kumar, opened fire when he was attacked by some smugglers. A Bangladeshi miscreant was hit by a bullet in the incident, but he managed to flee.
