The chairman also informed the committee that Web Based One Customs (WeBOC) and Computerised Risk-Based Evaluation of Sales Tax (CREST) would bring improvement in customs clearance and refund payments.

Showing commitment to improve tax culture, Tariq Bajwa informed the committee that the FBR has appointed tax officials with goods reputation in the field formations. The electronic system including WeBOC and CREST would improve customs clearance processes and sales tax refund payments to the registered persons.

The CREST is also helpful in conducting meaningful post refund audits of the registered persons. The complaints in refunds would also be drastically reduced following implementation of the CREST.
