Shehbaz Sharif meets Chinese delegation to boost trade

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Mohammad Shehbaz Sharif met with a delegation from a Chinese company to discuss enhancing business ties between Pakistan and China.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister emphasized that the government is working on a priority basis to promote business-to-business relations.

He highlighted that Pakistan believes in a sustainable, transparent, and facilitation-driven investment framework.

Shehbaz Sharif stated that investors are being provided with every possible facility through the Special Investment Facilitation Council to ensure ease of investment in Pakistan.

He stressed that joint ventures between the two countries are crucial for the economy, as they generate employment opportunities, facilitate technology transfer, and boost exports.

The briefing during the session revealed that the company is particularly focused on exports, reporting an export revenue of $54 million for the fiscal year 2024-2025.

The meeting was attended by Federal Minister for the Investment Board Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh, Minister of State for Finance and Railways Bilal Azhar Kiani, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Haroon Akhtar, and other senior government officials.
