KARACHI: Brisk shipping activity has been observed at the Port Qasim where seven ships carrying containers, Project cargo, Chemical, LPG, Coal and Furnace Oil berthed at Qasim International containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, Engro vopak Terminal, IOCB Terminal and FOTCO Terminal respectively.
Meanwhile five more ships carrying Containers, Chemical and furnace Oil have also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was 85% at the port on Wednesday where nine ships namely OOCL Kobe, Al Rawadeh, Motion Scan, Thorco Winter, Atlantic Glory, Alpha Melody, Green Speed, Trans Pacific, and Amarayllis are currently occupying berths to load/offload Containers, Project Cargo, Chemical, Canola, LPG, Coal and Furnace Oil respectively during 24 hours.
A cargo volume of 77323 tonnes comprising 63857 tonnes imports and 13466 tonnes exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 1787 containers TEUs) were handled at the Port during last 24 hours.
