SIALKOT: The Model Customs Collectorate has collected Rs 11.8 million more revenue during January 2016 as compared to the collection made during the same period last year.
As per details, the Sialkot Customs, under the supervision of Collector Ahamd Reza, collected Rs 24.519 million under the heads of customs duty, sales tax, withholding tax etc during January, 2016.
However, it collected Rs 12.719 million taxes during January, 2015. The department has surpassed the last January’s collections by 52 percent.
Assistant Collector Chaudhary Fahad Bashir told that effective measures have been taken to increase the tax collection under all heads. He further said that collected revenue played an important role in economic development of the country.
