Sialkot Customs impounds Mitsubishi Pajero worth Rs1.2

SIALKOT: The Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) of Model Customs Collectorate has impounded a non-customs paid vehicle, Mitsubishi Pajero on (GT) Road, Gujranwala worthRs1.2 million.

Assistant Collector Ali Mohatashim Minhas received information about non-duty-paid vehicle. On this he instructed Superintendent Sardar Manzoor Ahmed Khan to impound the vehicle.

The superintendents along with his team member Inspector Amjid Maqbool and constables started checking of vehicles at GT Road Gujranwala.

During the checking vehicles the team intercepted a Mitsubishi Pajero bearing registration number RIR-503-08, model 2008 which was playing on road without non-customs paid. The team asked driver Naseeb about customs paid documents of the vehicle but he failed to produce the said documents.

The team impounded the vehicle while the driver phoned owner of vehicle about documents then owner said to him hand over the vehicle to ASO team. The team released driver after proper interrogation whereas the team will issue legal notice to owner of the vehicle.

The team shifted the vehicle in the compound of Sialkot Customs while the team has registered a case and will forward case before the Adjudication court for proceeding.
