SIALKOT: Gujranwala Customs Intelligence and Investigation has confiscated Iranian origin nylon rope worth Rs1 million and impounded trailer during vehicles checking at Grand Trunk (GT) Road at kamokey Check post.
Under the directions of Deputy Director Ali Zeb Khan the Superintendent Customs Intelligence Tahir Rafique constituted a team under the supervision of Inspector Mian Muhammad Yousaf to check vehicles on GT road at Kamokey Check Post under Iran Transit Trade. The inspector along with his team members constables Usama, Sajid Raza, Boota, Mubashir checked various vehicles meanwhile team intercepted a 40 feet trailer bearing registration number TLQ-237 which was coming from Quetta and going to Rawalpindi.
During the checking of the trailer the team recovered 592 bundles of Iranian smuggled nylon rope worth about Rs1 million from the trailer. The team asked driver Gulzar Khan about custom-duty paid documents of nylon rope but the driver was failed to produce said documents.
The driver told team that the nylon rope was loaded from Trailer stand of Quettea and I don’t know about documents rather the manager is responsible for loading and unloading of any luggage. The team confiscated the rope and impounded trailer.
The team released driver after proper interrogation. However the team has registered a case against driver under section 157/58 and issue a legal notice to Trailer Stand Manager for legal process against him.
