KARACHI: Sindh government has allocated Rs244 billion as Annual Development Plan (ADP). The total development outlay is pitched at Rs344 billion which includes Rs42.7 billion as Foreign Project Assistance (FPA), Rs27.3 billion as Federal Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) and Rs30 billion for district development.
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in his budget speech 2017-18 highlighted that 8106 new development schemes to be launched in the next fiscal year for which Rs 92.12 billion has been allocated. Furthermore an amount of Rs151.87 billion has been allocated for 2158 ongoing schemes.
The key highlights for ADP allocations are as under:
- Provision of solar water pumps/tubewells on subsidized rates to farmers in Sindh: Rs563.858 million
- Preservation and storage facility of fruits and vegetables through hot water treatment and controlled atmosphere store on subsidy to farmers: Rs242.027 million
- Development of townships in major urban centers (50,000 Nos 120 squares yard plots with all civic services): Rs1,000.000 million
- Development of summer resorts at Gorakh Hills District Dadu: Rs1,085.000 million
- Establishment of comprehensive schools in SIndh (25 units, one in eachdistrict): Rs600.000 million
- Establishment of cadet college for girls at Shaheed Benazirabad: Rs644.043 million
- Establishment of cadet college at Karampur: Rs212.476 million
- Strengthening / Upgradation of Jinnah Sindh Medical University, Karachi: Rs400.000 million
- Establishment of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto University of Law at Karachi: RS300.000 million
- Village Electrification Program in Sindh (Phase-VII): Rs700.000 million
- Sindh Renewable Energy Development Project (SREDP): Rs580.000 million
- Gas Supply to villages in Sindh: Rs1,125.000 million
- Improvement of majooor fishermen’s settlements and rehabilitation of flood affected areas in coastal areas of Thatta, Sujawal and Badin: Rs196.000 million
- Establishment of Paeds Cardiac Unit at NIVCD, Karachi: Rs210.000 million
- Establishment of Ghulam Muhammad Mahar Medical College, Sukkur: Rs500.000 million
- Renovation and rehabilitation of Chandka Medical College and Construction of New Noori Girls Hostel of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical University, Larkana: Rs350.000 million
- Sindh Immunization support program (SISP): Rs1,816.717 million
- Development of Infrastructure at SITE Nooriabad, Karachi, Hyderabad and Sukkur: Rs228,220 million
- Infrastructure Development of Industrial Estate, Larkana: Rs636.108 million
- Establishment of five Combined Effluent Treatment Plant (CEPT) for industrial areas of Karachi including laying of interceptor sewers: Rs1,424.00 million
- Restoration/Rehabilitation of LBOD and Kotri Drainage Network System including activation of Dhoras (Phase-II): Rs388,436 million
- Sindh Flood Emergency Reconstruction Project for Bunds and Canals (Flood 2010-11) ADB Loan Scheme (TM Khan, SBA, Jamshoro Hyderabad, Ghotki, Khairpur, N. Feroze, Matiari, Larkana, Qamber, Dadu, Sujawal, Thatta, Kashmore, Sukkur and Shikarpur: Rs425.000 million
- Remodeling of Dadu Canal and Johi Canal: Rs215.053 million
- Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Sweet Water Project for Thar (Umerkot to Keetari) – Providing Water from Thar Wah of Umerkot to Keetari Taluka Chachro Via Dhalo Jo Tar, Kaplore, Viklore Tar, Budha Sansha, Vechlo Par, Ratan Jo Tar and constructing of underground reservoirs: Rs330.000 million
- Construction of Courts (16 Nos.) at District Court Building, Korangi, Karachi: Rs291.000 million.
