SINGAPORE: The Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) seized crystal methamphetamine (‘Ice’) estimated to be worth more than $101,000 in an operation on Wednesday.
CNB said in a statement here the other daythat its officers arrested a 25-year-old male Singaporean for suspected drug trafficking in an HDB unit at Marine Terrace.
Two bundles of ‘Ice’ weighing about 560g were uncovered from a hidden compartment under the seat of the suspect’s motorcycle.
A 28-year-old male Singaporean was also arrested near Kallang Avenue as a suspected accomplice.
Investigations into the drug trafficking activities of both suspects are ongoing.
If found guilty of trafficking more than 250g of methamphetamine, they will face the death penalty.
CNB added that 250g of methamphetamine can feed the addiction of about 185 abusers for a week.
