SINGAPORE: Over 800,000 Singaporean households in Housing Board flats will receive $45 million worth of GST vouchers to offset utility bills.
The GST Voucher – U-Save is part of the permanent GST Voucher scheme, designed to help lower- and middle-income households cope with their living expenses. The U-Save vouchers are distributed quarterly.
In April, eligible Singaporean households will each receive a GST Voucher – USave of up to $65, depending on their HDB flat type.
The assistance is substantial. For instance, those living in 1- to 2-room HDB flats can offset about 3 to 4 months of utilities bills on average with their regular GST Voucher – U-Save.
Three- and four-rooomers can use their vouchers to pay for about 1 to 2 months of utilities bills on average.
