TOKYO: WiFi Alliance confirms that the Sony Xperia Z3 and Z2 handsets are getting Android 5.0 Lollipop updates. The certification happened on the 15 February and so the update could arrive anytime. The model number for the Sony Xperia Z3 was D6603.
Over on the blog of Sony there was news about the devices along with other ones that are getting the Android 5.0 Lollipop update. These are said to include the Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR, Xperia Z1, Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia Z1 Compact, Xperia Z2, Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3v, Xperia Z3 Compact and Sony Z Ultra Google Play are the Xperia Z series smartphones.The Xperia Tablet Z, Xperia Z2 Tablet, and the recent Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact will also get updated to Android 5.0 Lollipop.
It was in December last year when the blog said that only the Sony Z Ultra GPE would be updated but now this is going to include the Sony Xperia Z3 and the Z2.
