MADRID: Spanish LNG terminals will receive 17 LNG cargoes in August and reload three vessels for a total net intake of 1.76 million cubic meters, according to initial nominations published by gas grid operator Enagas. The total amount of LNG incoming will be 2.16 million cu m, while the reloaded volume will be 400,000 cu m, the company said.
By terminal, Barcelona will receive two cargoes and reload none for a net intake of 260,000 cu m; Cartagena will receive one and carry out no reloads for a net intake of 135,000 cu m, Huelva will receive three and reload none for a net intake of 412,000 cu m; Bilbao will receive three and reload one for a net intake of 274,000 cu m, Sagunto will receive six and reload two for a net intake of 407,000 cu m and Mugardos will receive two and reload none for a net intake of 270,000 cu m.
Overall sendout from the six terminals into the natural gas system will be 8.2 TWh in August, which will meet 41% of estimated demand, while Enagas estimated net pipeline imports of 12.3 TWh during the month, with total demand in the traditional holiday period forecast at 20.1 TWh.
Total usable storage stocks (operational and strategic) in August are forecast to average 20.5 TWh in the country’s underground storage sites (71% full) while LNG tanks will hold an average 10.1 TWh (47% full), the data showed.
